What is electrolysis?

Electrolysis uses a probe to deliver a

gentle current into the hair follicle to remove the hair.  It is the only type of hair removal that it permanent because it destroys hair at the root.

Which type of hair removal
is right for you?

Works on facial hair

Unwanted hair is a common source of stress.   Some temporary hair removal methods can actually make the situation worse  by making hair thicker, darker and more dense, especially on the face.  They can also cause ingrown hairs and skin irritation as well.

Most people have turned to either laser or electrolysis to try to eliminate unwanted hair, but laser treatments can not permanently eliminate hair.   They  only reduce the amount of hair.

Electrolysis works on all skin and hair colors

Laser treatments use the difference in pigment (color) between skin and hair, so it can only be used only on those with light skin and dark hair.   It will not work well on dark skin, or light colored hair, such as blond, red or gray.   It does not destroy hair at the root, so it can not permanently eliminate hair.  *See below for the FDA statement of the limitations of laser hair treatments.

It is also difficult to have laser treatments during the summer.  Laser requires  that people stay out of the sun for 2 weeks before and after the treatment or it can cause permanent skin damage.

Works on light, blond and red hair

Electrolysis is the only permanent method of hair removal. It can be used on men or women, regardless of skin or hair color, because it targets cells within the hair follicle instead of pigment.

It is safe during summer months, because you only need to avoid the sun for 2 days after the treatment.

If you want the best chance of permanent hair removal, especially for facial hair, then electrolysis could be the answer for you.

Electrolysis - the only FDA approved permanent hair removal

From the FDA regarding laser hair removal:

"Manufacturers may not claim that laser hair removal is either painless or permanent unless the FDA determines that there are sufficient data to demonstrate such results. Several manufacturers received FDA permission to claim, "permanent reduction," NOT "permanent removal" for their lasers. This means that although laser treatments with these devices will permanently reduce the total number of body hairs, they will not result in a permanent removal of all hair."
